How Do I Get Here?

Islewilde takes place on Vashon Island in Puget Sound. There are no bridges connecting the island with the mainland, which goes a long way toward keeping the island rural and relatively isolated. The island is only accessible by ferry boat. Coming from the north, you can catch a car ferry at the Fauntleroy Dock in West Seattle, or a passenger-only ferry from Downtown Seattle. Coming from the south, there is a car ferry from the Point Defiance neighborhood of Tacoma.

You can find complete ferry schedules and maps here.

Islewilde takes place on a piece of property in the island’s interior at 21150 Old Mill Rd. Driving from the north end ferry dock you will take Vashon Hwy SW up the hill, past the town of Vashon, to SW 204th St. Take a right at SW 204th, then a left at Old Mill Rd SW. Follow the road until it turns into a gravel road, then follow the signs to Islewilde. Please drive slowly to keep dust down and the neighbors happy.

From the South end, take Vashon Hwy SW until SW Shawnee Rd and take a left. Follow SW Shawnee until Old Mill Rd SW and take a right, then follow the signs to Islewilde. Be WARNED that from this direction Old Mill Rd is an unpaved dirt road and is VERY bumpy. If you have low clearance on your vehicle or a questionable suspension, we strongly recommend approaching from the north!

See you at Islewilde!
